If you ready my blog on a regular basis, you might remember me interviewing Dr. Pauline Hili, founder of Nourish skincare last year. I got a real buzz from talking to this idea-buzzing, yet slightly shy woman and has become a fan of Nourish skincare as a consequence. At some stage Pauline actually asked me if I wanted to be on a tester panel for their products and I happily said yes.
In December I received a lovely pot of cream that I had to use for a week and then fill in my feedback questionnaire, but after a couple of days I came to the conclusion that my skin and the cream weren’t exactly meant for each other, even after a very promising start. I gave honest feedback to Pauline, who was encouraging and wanted honest feedback. Within a few days I had another sample of the cream and we happily bonded. After using the cream religiously for a week, in the morning and evening, my skin looked brighter, clearer, a bit plumper and I certainly felt quite happy to go out at times without wearing any foundation or tinted moisturiser or BB cream.
Well, the cream just had its official and exclusive launch on Feelunique.com ( so you can only buy it direct from them and not even Nourish website carries it ) at the introductory price of £19.50.
It is called ‘Argan Skin Renew’ and is part of Nourish skincare treatments range. This rich moisturiser ‘aims to repair, protect and hydrate your skin (especially in this cold weather)’. In my case, it also brightened and plumped the skin.
‘Argan Skin Renew’ is formulated in the company’s London lab, using only natural and organic ingredients and it is certified organic by the Soil Association. The cream contains bio-active peptides, essential vitamins and a special blend of high-omega emollients to improve the texture of your skin, restore hydration and rejuvenate your skin ( it feels quite thick when you dip your finger in the pot but the skin seems to absorb it very quickly leaving behind a very soft skin surface, to which you can almost instantly apply your usual make-up.
If you are interested in the list of ingredients, it goes as follows:
Aqua, Simmondsia chinesis (jojoba) seed oil*, Helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil*, Glycerin*, Cetearyl alcohol, Palmitoyl tripeptide-5, Cetearyl glucoside, Sodium levulinate, Levulinic acid, Argania sponosa kernal oil*, Selaginella lepidophylla (rose of Jericho) extract, Lactobacillus ferment, Crambe abyssinica (Abysinnian kale) seed oil, Borago officinalis (borage) seed oil*, Rosa caninca (wild rose) seed oil*, Cetearyl olivate, Sorbitan olivate, Glyceryl sterate, Sodium hyaluronate, Aloe barbadensis (aloe vera) leaf juice powder*, Tocopherol, Boswellia carterii (Frankincense) oil*, Potassium sorbate, Bisabolol, Zingiber officinale (ginger) root extract, Commiphora myrrha (myrrh) oil, limonene. *Organic Ingredient
I asked Dr. Hili what lead her to develop this product and she said that ‘the product was developed following on from the success of the ‘Argan skin rescue’ and the requests for an emulsion based product. The Rose of Jericho, also known as the ‘resurrection plant’, is the most impressive plant to come past my desk in a very long time and makes a perfect partner for argan oil. It was featured on David Attenborough’s programme just this week. The plant has one of the most sophisticated mechanisms for maintaining the integrity of its enzymes and vital structures under extreme pressures and environmental stress. The extract used in this product provides protective, moisture-retentive and repairative benefits of the secondary metabolites, produced by Rose of Jericho during stress. The iridoids from this the plant achieve potent anti-aging, water-holding and soothing effects. This, combined with the benefits of hylaronic, borage, rosehip and frankincense make it a fantastic product for improving the skin and slowing key signs of ageing’.
I wondered if this product was developed as a follow-up to Nourish Argan Skin Resue serum, which I absolutely adore for its gentle, yet enticing smell, texture and effect on not only my skin, but my hair as well. Dr. Hili’s reply to that is that ‘ it is a complimentary product to the argan skin rescue, as both of them have been designed to improve skin’s health ‘.
In terms of product ‘exclusivity’ to Feelunique.com, Nourish team is actually working closely with FeelUnique team to ensure product has wide reach to bring its benefits to the global beauty community and consider it to be a ‘very exciting opportunity’ for the brand.
All I can say is that it definitely has my vote of confidence, but more importantly, that of my skin. And it certainly has been both educational and exciting to participate in the testing of this product before its launch.
