Falling in love with Ren skincare

Many years ago, when Ren was just entering UK’s beauty market, a girlfriend of mine gave me a big set of Ren‘s products as a birthday gift. I loved the smell of the products, the pine kernel bath oil in particular, but somehow my love affair with the products was short lived for no particular reason and I didn’t re-stock once the bottles were empty…..

Years have gone by, Ren has expanded its range to probably three times the size and has many stockists and somehow, theren love affair seems to have been revived back to life. It started with a product called ‘Micro Polish Cleanser’ from Ren‘s Radiance range. I don’t use it as a cleanser, but as a scrub once or twice a week and I can’t praise enough the effect it has on my skin. This product deeply cleanses and exfoliates your skin and leaves it glowing and radiant. It contains bio extracts of amber, papaya enzyme, glycolic and lactic acid and arctic seabuckthorn oil and in addition to being a cheerful orange colour, it also smells great and I can honestly say that it’s the best scrub I have used in years.

During colder months I tend to use oil on my skin and ‘Omega 3 Night Repair Serum’ combines for me the serum and moisturiser in one product. It sinks in quickly and nourishes my skin during the night time, when our skin recovers and the active cell turnover takes place, yet this product doesn’t leave a greasy residue. It contain s Omega 3, 7 and Vitamin A that help to replenish skin lipids and make your face glow. You only need one or two pumps (if you want to nourish your neck area), so a little goes a long way. On top of it, if I want a little more nourishment, I use the ‘Frankincense revitalising night cream‘ on top-Ren actually recommends using the oil and this night cream combination.

My other daily essential from Ren is Vita-Mineral Radiant Day Cream, that contains Vitamins A (from rosehip oil, that ren2is often used to heal scars), vitamin P (from rose petals) and vitamin F (from arctic cranberry seed oil) plus trace elements copper, zinc and magnesium. This cream is aimed at boosting collagen production and helps tone, firm and energise your skin. Plus, Ren‘s global protection complex with its synergetic blend of powerful antioxidants, promises to purify your skin and protect you against inflammation and premature ageing-sounds very promising, if you remember the words of Coco Chanel who said ‘nature gives you the face you have at twenty; it is up to you to merit the face you have at fifty’.

One other product that I have to praise, and it works really well for all skin types, sensitive in particular. It is called ‘Hydra-Calm Cleansing Milk’ and it is great to use it in the evening, to take off your make-up (especially if you had a night out), as it thoroughly cleanses your face, before you put your night skincare on. I also like to use this rich formula to massage my face with the face roller, treating it almost as a mask too.

I have to say that it is rare for me to use that many products from one range and it is a testament to a great list of ingredients and the effect that Ren’s formulations will have on your skin if used for a certain period of time, so the effect is cumulative.

Ren Hydra-Calm cleansing milk £18 for 150 mls

Ren Micro Polish Cleanser, £20 for 150 mls

Ren Omega 3 Night Repair Serum £34 for 50 mls

The REN article could have been written for me – thanks so much. Even Madeleine commented on Sunday that I was lucky to have you to recommend products to me when she looked at my make-up bag!! x
